Free Download Manager, is the clear winner of the products reviewed. It's faaast, stable, and integrates well into Internet Explorer, Opera, and Firefox, though the later works best with the free FlashGot extension installed.

Another excellent product is Advanced WindowsCare Personal from IObit. It is very simple to use, with one-click cleaning for most of its tasks. I personally find the "Iobit News Centre" that loads every time I open Advanced WindowsCare rather annoying. I recommend this if you want a simple solution with the least user interaction. The Personal version offers:

My first choice here is CCleaner, a product that started off as pretty basic but has continued to improve to the point where it is now very close to the best in its class regardless of price.
Explorer and Firefox and much more. Additionally, it will check the Windows Registry for invalid entries.
